I have heard so much about oblivion and i want to know if it is really worth buying. If any of you could give some testimony or recomendation (sp?) about the game that would be great.

Pretty much everyone on here loves that game, ive never played it but half the threads have been turned into discussions of how great Oblivion is...mostly by Dark Drakan.

but it is THE RPG!

Oblivion is an epic game, best RPG for many years it has afew bugs in it but what game doesnt. A patch has just came out though that addresses alot of them. If you are an RPG fan and want one thats going to last a LONG time then get it. Be warned though you need a powerful PC or an Xbox 360 and also alot of free time once you get hooked lol.

If you want any particular questions answered please just ask about anything you want to know about the game.

I have an almost superhuman PC, but do you have the same freedom as Fable and i have seen screenshots and i'm just wondering if you can go into 3rd person view?

Oh i wanted to know that when i first saw Oblivion...i think you can though. Well someone told me you could when doing stealthy things anyway.
not sure about anytime during the game.

Well Morrowind had that ability so I'm sure Oblivion will too. But if it doesn't then you can count on me to never play the game. If there is one part of games I truly am picky about besides gameplay it is the whole form of camera control.

From what I remember, playing Elder Scrolls - 3 expansions back. It was first person, but when you were inactive (IE. not moving) the camera would wander so you could see yourself. I pretty sure it has camera options.

The game is completely non-linear, and you can find some extraordinary MOD's out there for it. It's an awesome game. I'm planning on getting it, but I think the req's might be to high for my current set up.

The game has about 100 times more freedom than Fable and the world is HUGE anf you can explore it at your own leisure. It is designed as a 1st person game but you can go into 3rd person though i wouldnt recommend it as fighting is incredibly hard in this view and camera is annoying at times. 1st person is so much better!

Yeah good point, especcily when you realise that, that cool armour you had equipped looked cool until you released you forgot to equip the trousers.

LOL, yea thats hapened to me before.

You know what sucks.........Beast races cant wear shoes or full helms(not that I use beast races I think they suck)

What would you class as beast races? Argonian and Khajiit?

Yes. They need to make special boots, shoes, and full helmets for those beasts.
