Hm.. I completely agree, Sharon.
Sony promised their consumers that PSN would offer everything Xbox Live does, but for FREE. People who complain about $50 for Live, well hey.. You get what you paid for, and in the PS3's case ... well, the cobwebs speak for themselves.
They've now wasted years trying to create what is nothing more than
Second Life, without all the user-created junk on a console... and this is just the BETA we're waiting for! Unless there are some cheap companies out there willing to advertise throughout the billboards and building signs of Home (... Verizon and McDonald's)... then I don't see how they'll make much money from this.
They could've been doing more productive things with all that time, like adding content to PSN that people might actually care about. More games, demos, coverage, anything.. At least XBL has something new to report every day, and keeps it's community up-to-date through Inside Xbox. I'd love to see all of THAT on the PSN,
for free... of course, I do recall people having to pay for various content on PSN anyway. Yeah, ... you get what you paid for.
We'll see how this "Home" plays out, but I'm not going to hold my breath.
