Square Enix Confirms FFXIII Is Not Exclusive To PS3

In news that is sure to rock the gaming world it has been confirmed that Final Fantasy XIII, the blockbuster RPG highly anticipated by millions of fans of the series, will not be an exclusive game for the PlayStation 3 console.

The Final Fantasy XIII project as of right now consists of two games for the PlayStation 3 as well as a mobile game. Motomu Toriyama of Square Enix has come out and made the confirmation that other consoles will be receiving Final Fantasy XIII on top of the PlayStation 3.

This is pretty big news and could lead to speculation as to which Final Fantasy XIII games are going where. The obvious rumors are going to be that FFXIII is heading to the Xbox 360 as well as the PlayStation 3.

This quote though could also mean that the series could be heading to the Nintendo DS handheld and or the Nintendo WII as well since Square Enix has been very impressed and pleased with the progression and installed user base of the Wii, with the DS already receiving the Final Fantasy treatment a few times.

Let the rumors begin. Either way though the fact that Final Fantasy XIII will not be a PS3-exclusive has to make any Sony fan cringe in their gaming chairs.

About time, i really hope all the reports are true and it does make the jump to the 360. These rumours have been flying around for a while but are getting more concrete by the week.

Yeah, Sony's ego is bound to drop down now.

All that's left now is Metal Gear Solid 4, if that makes it to the 360, then I'll have no other reason to get a PS3 in the near future. But as to which FFXIII game comes to the 360 is what I'm most concerned over...not really sure of what the gameplay is actually like for Final Fantasy XIII: Versus, plus not enough info on it for me to care much about it at the moment...But if the original Final Fantasy XIII comes to the 360, then that's good enough for me.

It will be no doubt the same version as the PS3 version if it does indeed come to Xbox 360 wouldnt worry about that. Also i agree, only major exclusive left would be MSG 4 and they are still in talks at moment...

Dear God, I hope this game makes it to 360. Its the only reason I plan on buying a PS3, and Id rather save myself 600 bucks.

If I had a chance to have any of them, I`d take Xbox. For many reasons:
1) It`s cheaper
2) Fable 2... duh
3) My friend is a BIG Sony fan, he`d buy PS3 anyways.
One bad thing is that Xbox doesn`t have Tekken.. and yes, no MGS4 yet.

Always has DOA as an alternate, and only a matter of time before Metal Gear jumps ship.
