The Story of Dekai
This is a story of a small boy growing up in albion alone, a boy who abandoned at birth grew up to become the greatest hero albion has ever known, this boys name was Dekai.
Dekai awoke from his small mat in the dense greatwood forest, he had been living in there for over two years, now at 9 years old he was ready to give his life a purpose, one that would mean something, one that would prove he was more than just a nobody. He gathered all the equipment he had managed to collect over the years living and scavenging the greatwood forest. Countless times he had run into parties of bandits and had the cunningness to set traps killing them all, and collecting thier equipment. He had already aquired quite a bit of gold from selling scrap armor and weapons. Now exiting the greatwood forest, the future hero set his sights on the heroes guild he had heard much about over his years. Once there he proved his ability by challenging a current hero to a duel. During the fight he was beaten horribly but showed enough strength and willpower the guildmaster accepted him as one of them. Once at the guild he trained and studied every single day, after reading every book in the library and mastering every training session it was then Dekai sought for more, the guildmaster realized that Dekai was no ordinary child and quickly took him under his wing as his own personal apprentice. It was while working with the guildmaster that the child truly excelled and by the age of 15 he could beat any apprentince in the guild and even a few of the heroes for that matter. The day came for him to graduate the biggest graduation ceremy the guild have ever partook in happened that day. The guild recognized him as a true hero and sent him on his way to becoming the greatest hero of all time. The hero took his first step outside of the guild after 6 long years. Looking out upon lookout point he recalled what seemed like yesterday when he was only a small child struggling to survive in the greatwood forest. Dekai started to walk, to where, he did not know, it was like something was leading him, an overwhelming driving force urging him to find his true destiny. After making it through lookout point and into bowerstone south, he couldnt help to notice that he knew no one else but people from the guild. He realized now that if he were to survive in life he would need to as charismatic as he was cunning and strongwilled. He knew he needed something a companion of some sort a friend that could be with him for his entire life. While pondering on this question the answer fell right into his lap. A large brown dog ran down through bowerstone being chased by guards swrods drawn, only for it to stop behind him and lay beneath his legs. The stopped and told the hero to move and saying that he would not want to see this, but at this the hero did not move, he stood protecting the animal from its obvious death. The guards hollered for him to move but still he stood like a stone. The hero knew that the guards had the ultimate authority in town and could kill him easily for no reason so he knew what had to be done. He reached in his pocket and pulled out a small brown bag the guards looked and waited. The hero untied and tipped it over onto the earth. Over 60 gold pieces spilled out and the guards greedily snatched it up and quickly scurried off to count there collectings. The hero layed out his hand to the animal and then to his surprise the dog put his head in it and then the heor truly new he had found his companion for life.
