ok um... i have a rather stupid question...
i notice that on a few forums, someone will find something new or something, then someone will say: +rep
what i want to know is: what do you mean +rep?

see the green dot above your gamertag? that is you reputation, or rep. this basicly shows how much you have contributed to the forum. when someone finds somthing new, or says something funny, or makes something cool, or just does something you like or approve of, you click on the middle button on the bottom left corner of their post where it says "add to so and sos reputation". rep doesnt really do anything, its just kind of an ego boost. notice how you only have one dot? thats cuz your rep is under 100. i have 2, becaus my rep is 121. you get a dot for every 100 points (i assume, i am sorta new so someone else could explane it better). i also belive that the higher someone elses rep is, the higher amount of rep they can give you. for example, i could give you +1 rep, while someone like Projectego or Albionknight could give you +10rep. mmmmkay?

edit: you dont have to say "+rep" buy the way. but if you do, youd better add to there rep! i think mostly people say +rep to let everybody else know that they are not a jurk and added to the persons rep.

also, this post is an example of somthing that deserves to be +reped.

TJ Griffin pretty much summed it up in his post. You just have to click the button on their post and approve of it to add to their rep as a way of thanks, or appreciation.



People only say +rep to let the user know they have liked or approved of their post and added to their reputation.

Everyone gives each other one rep point regardless of their own rep count. Except staff members who offer 10 points. Go to our Devil May Cry forums and everyone has ridiculous levels of rep because we haven't disabled the rep ratio like we have here. Some people over there give about 6000 rep points in one hit...kind of diminishes the value of it really.

It's better this way because those will astronomical rep have genuinely earned every single point. Sometimes it doesn't show up in the User CP (where you can see what you got rep for) because staff have the power to give out sneaky admin rep which is done via the admin/mod control panel so we can let someone have more than the customary 10 points from us.

ok, now people.. im really jumping the gun here, but 3 months from now, when we are all playing fable 2 co-op, will we also recieve the same courtisy involving xbox live rep points?
im not asking for a hand-out, i am simply wondering if such will stand

Everyone I play against/with who isn't a whiny little baby with a foul mouth and bad attitude to match gets positive XBL rep from me. Those who are like the aforementioned get negative rep.

I've only come across three people I've repped negatively so far and they have been team killing 12 year olds with verbal diarrohea and about as much intelleligence as a cabbage. I think you're safe

I'll pretty much give anyone favourable rep on XBL when they send me a friend's request - just mention that you're from ze forumz.

After all, I'd prefer to play any of you guys than some random Joe Smoe.
