Sword Of Aeons

ok so i know about the glitch where you can hero save during a quest and have everything and double it the next time around...i was just wondering though...why doesnt it work for the battle with jack...like when you beat him you get the sword and you hero save and you're supposed to have it the next time around but i dont...i have the stick in my hand not the sword of aeons...so then i got to wondering that if i kept the sword in inventory that maybe it might work but that didnt either...so if you know anyway to help i would appreciate it a lot

yeah same thing happened to me on the rose cotage quest i dint get the silver keys plus i also went in and got will user robes saved abd loaded my guy was naked and dint have silver key.
