Re: Transfer?
If you want to transfer cash, you can simply log your second character as a henchman to your first, set it so the henchman receives 100% of cash, and then repeatedly buy and sell a building. The "Cow & Corset" in Bowerstone Market works very quickly. Also, if you quit out without saving on your main character after quitting out on your henchman, you can keep all of your cash and repeat that process. As for transferring items, do as TJ suggested, it seems to be the only way, unless you have a second Xbox and Xbox LIVE account, as I soon will.

A simpler solution:
After obtaining any ability, use a second controller to sign in a henchman WITHOUT choosing a gamer profile or other character (it should have the same abilities as your main character). On the henchman, go to its abilities and refund them all, then quit the henchman out, and all experience will be transfered to your main character. Use that experience to buy more abilities, and then repeat this glitch. I've done this to the point where I had all abilities before even facing Thag.

Re: Transfer?
Actually it only takes a few minutes, unless you are referring to the game experience, in which case, yes, it does, but I don't think fable2fan#45 is too concerned about that, as he/she wants to transfer everything to a fresh character...

Re: Transfer?
Only one Xbox live account is required to transfer cash and gain experience. Items, however, require two separate accounts on separate Xbox's. For experience and cash, all that is required is a second controller, and for cash, a second Fable 2 character.
