Villagers in the guild- Fable I

Ok, you know how in the first one (Well, at least the lost chapters one)
there are those villagers that tour the guild like alllll the time?
Do they serve a particular purpose?
Because I notice that the guy that's giving the tour always has a green dot representing him on the map. Which doesn't those green dots mean someone will happen when you talk to them or it means a quest can be found?
Because those tourers stump me.

I kept thinking there was some sort of hidden secret I couldn't find or something...

Do you guys think that if you attacked and killed someone that other guild members will attack you?

man, i dont care about a tour... ill give a nice tour of my blade! "ok, this is the tip of the blade. i insert it into your shoulder like so. now, i rather forcefully shove the shaft through your shouder, like so, then i pull out the blade. are you still with me? now, i stab you in the knee like so... and you fall to your knees like so. now i stab you in the gut, make a right to left slash, and now your intestines are on the guild grounds... does anyone have any questions thusfar in the tour?"

There you go. I think that was the whole point of the guy. For those souls with long attention spans and a passion for trivia.

Not that I did anything like that really. I swear.

No, really, I didn't. I got bored halfway through and slaughtered them all. Then I loaded my last save because I was a good guy at the time, didn't want to go evil.
