white balverines

What weapons do you guys prefer to kill white balverines? expecialy the main one in knothole glades

It actually doesn't matter really. There is sort of a cheap feature when fighting that beast: You actually don't have to add the Silver Agumentation you get to any weapon - rather, after that cutscene the game alters the White Balverine so any weapon can hurt it.

The bow works much better killing balverines, as they have no innate defenses against arrows, apparently. Or simply use magic to kill them, the only defenses they have are against swords.

Considering they hack and slash at you and run at you when you shoot them with the bow. I think that's kinda more difficult sounding..

The lightning will spell will chew right through balverines and even the white balverine. But if I had to decide on which weapon would be best against the white balverine, I would have to be Wellow's Pickhammer since it's a pretty powerful and fast weapon that you can get early on in the game.

During the White balv quest. I usually attack him until he spawns all the other balverines (and I mean all of them) then I use force push

They do run at you, but they stop and roar and look intimidating about 10 feet before they get to you. Blast them then.

Magic owns them, especially if you maxed it out

Bows own them. I used a masterlongbow with a silver augmentation. Like one shot to kill a normal balverine. A few shots for the white one.

Bows are also great for undead as they are slooooo.

they really do stop for a while after you shoot them, it happens with bandits as well

In knothole glade there's a lot of vantage points to use a bow, but when they first show up they're harder to deal with because you're at closer range. They always stand up and howl or something before they rush at you so usually there's time, especially if you have the spell to slow down time. Dunno.

I never realized the silver augmentation was only needed that one time. Does it actually help, then?

I prefer using a sword with the silver augmentation. I hate Balverines, so I just want them dead on the ground.
