I had this happen to me a while back, but it only happened when I viewed threads that were started by, or posted in by, a certain member. I tested it several times and it only happened in that situation. It was not a malicious pop-up, I think that member was using that instant message program, and it asked if I wanted to sign in. This has not happened in a while, and that member is still active. I just went to one of his posts.
I am 90% sure it was that particular member, as I said, I tested it several times when it was happening and he was the only one that I saw on every page the pop-up asked me to sign in. So, hopefully, it will not happen anymore.

I'm lucky I can do as much as I do, with my laptop. I have a MSN account, and it might pop up
kinda like an advertisement, cause the person who sent you as message has an account, with them, like me. I have gmail, also and Facebook, and another, I think?

My computer is confused. It says so.

The first? Yeah, it could be an IE problem.

The second? Not so much. I have nothing from MSN, which is why I thought the popup weird.

Thanks for the info, mf! I can almost certainly say that I know what the problem is (I think)! Did you try to log into your @projectego.net email account using your forum username/password? If so, this will be what's causing the problem.

In order to log into your personal email account, you'd need to use:

moonfever@projectego.net
And whatever password you chose (I can't check, sorry!)

Hope this helps! If not, lemme know and i'm sure we'll come up with something!

I'm not normally one to point the blame... but I can honestly say that this forum should not under any circumstances spit out an MSN login pop-up thingy. There isn't a single Microsoft-related ad network being used on this website (and I can promise Google AdSense isn't the culprit since they are Microsoft's competetors)

It is really strange that both you and DD are getting this error, though. Are you guys using the new Internet Explorer 8 Beta? I'm pretty sure that integrates all kind of Microsoft stuff such as MSN... and other stuff. I haven't had the problem, personally, and I use Internet Explorer 7 to debug the forums for errors.

It's really strange... I'll look further into this and see what I can come up with.

Do you guys gett his on the main site, too, or just the forums?

Just the forums, and not recently. I do keep getting it again every time I go to that page that I have the screenshot of to check.

But I haven't had it pop up naturally recently.

I'm reasonably sure that my IE isn't a beta.

And yeah, I'll continue ignoring the thing-- it isn't really that much of a problem, just a bit annoying. When it showed up a couple times in three days or so, I mean.

I got it when clicking on certain threads and it was with the works IE (as i dont use it) and it isnt a new version. Couldnt make it come up at home on my IE (new version) but it did a handful of times at work on the odd occasion.

I went through MSN, and it's telling me my webpage has expired, and I have to get a new one? Or refresh it, maybe. It would have worked through MSN, but I now use gmail. This is so confusing.
