Wii overtakes Xbox 360

You can see how Sales in Japan have hurt the 360. This also doesn't bode well for the PS3 even though it's early in their 10 year plan.
I might just get a Wii to see how bad it is

I actually thought the 360 was MUCH further behind than that so im pleasantly surprised. I also did realise how far behind the PS3 sales were, interesting thread

Well, Japan is Nintendo country.... And 'Haha, Sony!'.

In my opinion, the Wii isn't bad. But what isn't good is that it needs games designed uniquely to it. Games like Bioshock and Mass Effect won't see their way to the Wii. But those games that are for the Wii are a blast to play on it.

So it's uniqueness is sort of a double-edged sword.

I was quite surprised that the sales figures for America of the Wii are higher than Japans. I agree about the Wii's games too, they lack big name titles and have to rely on Zelda and Metroid year after year. Also lack of a hard drive is holding it back right now, but i imagine they will get one soon despite their denials.

Thats right, because the Wii needs to move forward and go further than its novelty stereotype and with a lack of a hard drive theres not much they can do. The storage on the flash cards isnt much at all and there is very little to play with for the developers right now.

What it boils down to is the games. Very few developers aside from Sony and Nintendo are going to shun the Xbox which means that system will have the most games. The Wii will be shunned because of it's lack of power and the PS3 due to console base (for now)

America's sales are higher than every other category. Partly due to being given first priority. What I find interesting is that it is close to double the "other" category for the Wii and The Xbox but not the PS3 which shows that America is shunning the PS3 just as Japan is shunning the Xbox but not as extremely.
