Contest Rules:

The contest rules and requirements, on a per member basis, are as follows:

• Must have acquired a minimum of 100 posts
• Must have posted within 14 days prior to the contest beginning. I will post a thread entitled something like, "Fable 2 Competition Entry Thread", or something along those lines, close to when Fable 2 will be released. All you would need to do is reply to that thread to be entered into the contest.
• Staff and banned member accounts are exempt from this contest

All members who meet the above criteria will have their names entered into a raffle whereby the winner will be determined by whomever is the first name to be picked from a hat. Me, DD and Angel will be in charge of picking the winner's name out of a hat.

The winner will be rewarded with either a copy of Fable 2 or a cash reward amounting to $60 USD (Fable 2 will retail for $59.99 USD upon release). In the case of a cash sum being awarded, please be sure you have an active PayPal account ready.

In an attempt to combat any potential claims of unfairness, bias or cheating on our part, we will be recording the entire drawing a name from a hat process on video. This will [probably] also include recording ourselves writing out every single person's name on a piece of paper and adding it to "the hat".

Hi,

Long story short: I'm currently in the process of brainstorming a 'win a copy of Fable 2 contest' as you have undoubtedly guessed. I'm still deciding on what sort of criteria will be involved in order to win but I just thought I'd let everyone know in advance because Steve loves you.

My first thought was (and I almost immediately threw the idea out the window) a 'whoever has the highest post count' based contest but in the end I decided against it. I'm considering using the referrals system as a factor in the contest but I'm still working on that one.

I'm also torn between offering a free copy of Fable 2 for the Xbox 360 or a cash prize of $60 US dollars - the reason for the $60 is because that is what the game will retail for when it is released.

In fact, if you want to help: please feel free to make some suggestions as to what you believe would make for a fair contest and we'll see if they're fair and, well, at all viable.

Just so clarify: This is a contest where you are able to win a FREE copy of Fable 2 that I will be paying for out of my own pocket, or failing that, $60 US dollars to put towards Fable 2. There are no strings attached and somebody will win.

Personally, I love contests, and I'm genuinely looking forward to giving back to the community who have contributed and helped make this the premier Fable 2 forum to date. I love you guys!

Want to help? Spread the word of this contest on other websites, message boards, wherever (and include a link back here for pity's sake!) and if I'm satisfied that people are helping to create a little noise about us and this contest then I will give away a second copy of Fable 2 or a second cash reward of $60 to the runner-up!

That's also something I've considered. I was thinking perhaps a raffle where member's names who met a certain criteria, say those of you who exceed 250 posts or so, would be written on pieces of paper and picked out of a hat. I love this approach but the only thing that would be a problem would be that I'm sure at least one person would swear blind that the contest was rigged.

thats not very fair. i may not have many posts but i come on here daily ever since i joined. it would suck for people like me

hahahaaha, i dont reackon it should be on the amount of posts for some one might of been a nuasty person and then they win the prize because they had alot of nasty posts. it should be on talent. for people with talent should get rewared.

That sounds interesting. However, I think if I were to try and write down the name of every Fable and Fable 2 fan out there, I probably wouldn't be finished until Fable 2 was released...

As I mentioned earlier: The raffle approach was only something I have been considering and is by no means official. Also, Fable 2 apparently won't be released for another 12 months - if the contest did require members to have a minimum of 250 posts to enter - I'm sure you would have gained enough posts by then.

I want to reward people who do post and become an active, helpful and contributing part of our Fable 2 community. Members who are unpleasant and generally acting like a troll will be banned and 'Bandits' are exempt from this contest.
