Re: Win a copy of Fable 2 contest
A hundred it said when I started reading this thread a couple minutes ago.
I like the idea. The question is this: how would you get your wunnerful wunnerful prize? I mean, does the winner really want to be giving their address out to random people to get it mailed to them? Wait a minute, what am I saying "Free Fable 2" vs "Potential Creepy Stalker." Free stuff, let alone free Fable 2, wins hands down.
I'm not sure about the "why I'm here" essay. I mean, how would it be judged?

Re: Win a copy of Fable 2 contest
Contest Update:
At the moment the contest rules and requirements, on a per member basis, are as follows: - Must have aquired a minimum of 100 posts
- Must have posted within 14 days prior to the contest member entries being drawn (approximately two weeks before Fable 2 is released)
- Banned member accounts are exempt from this contest
All members who meet the above criteria will have their names entered into a raffle whereby the winner will be determined by whomever is the first name to be picked from a hat.
The winner will be rewarded with either a copy of Fable 2 or a cash reward amounting to $60 USD (Fable 2 will retail for $59.99 USD upon release).

Re: Win a copy of Fable 2 contest
Just so everybody knows: I have updated my original post with the current rules and requirements for the contest.

There will be, yes. Provided this contest gets some attention and some serious linkage (on other sites, forums, wherever). Check my first post.
I'll only be adding an additional runner-up prize if I believe that members are actually helping to promote this contest. Please understand everyone, though, that the Fable 2 / $60 prize is totally safe.

That's really good of you to offer, mate! However, I owe you enough as it is! If you're still interested though it would be great if we could talk it over next time you pop round my place.

Seriously, awsome idea Steve! Very... nice of you, indeed.

 And thanks!

I would also say that if you spam post to get to 25 then you could be disqualified all together.

Now, that is a very good idea, AK. Perhaps we can do something with that.

The raffle drawings would take place approximately two weeks before the official release of Fable 2.

Do you mean how many people? If so, then the answer is that we have more than enough members already to have a nice little raffle.

Fortunately, you really needn't worry about how you would receive your prize. If you just so happen to live in an area that I can't ship to (say, the planet Mercury, or something) then I will transfer the cash prize to the winner via either PayPal or whatever other way might seem easiest to the winner.

That's true, but free stuff would just be an additional bonus, right?

I'd didn't forget about that at all. In fact, the reason I made the contest now is because it was only recently revealed that Fable 2 is almost a year away from release and when I learned of this - I thought that this would be the perfect time to hold a contest. The more time means that more and more people will have the ability to enter the contest.

Re: Win a copy of Fable 2 contest
PayPal... good point. Course, I don't have a credit card, so I'd have to borrow my mom's, but that's a small price to pay for sixty bucks/Fable 2.
Now, how can I rig it so I win... That is the question. [sneaky grin]

You don't need to have a credit card to have a PayPal account - only a bank account is necessary to receive funds.

Re: Win a copy of Fable 2 contest
I would never mail cash. I'd have to be an absolute idiot to do that. I meant I would transfer money online via PayPal or direct bank transfer (which is the most efficient way to go about it) or if absolutely necessary - mail a cheque.
