Would you prefer a personal blog instead of a gallery?

Hi guys,

This is mainly aimed at the gold supporters and staff:

Since updating the forum skin and upgrading our forum software to the latest available version everything has been great. Some of you may have even noticed that you have a few more options here and there which had previously been removed. Hurrah!

However, there is just one problem... the gallery. It has decided to die and I am bringing it back during the breaks of writing this post. I love the gallery but because it's a third party add-on and not an official forum product - it doesn't always work as it should.

I was just wondering how many of you guys would be interested in me purchasing a blog script from the same people who made this forum. It'll cost me that little bit extra but since the gold supporters paid for extra perks such as a gallery and it's not currently available (or might never will be again if it doesn't want to cooperate...) then perhaps you guys might enjoy your own personal blog instead? You guys can find out a little more about it over at the official vBulletin website here.

I'd personally prefer a blogging system installed and not just because the gallery takes up an absolute ton of space on my dedicated server (probably around 500MB by now) and it takes absolutely ages to backup.

Let me know what you think. And please bear in mind, I didn't mean to break the gallery - it's not my fault that it doesn't want to work with the latest version of the forum!

I'm just trying to find a way to make everybody happy.

I'm taking it for granted that everybody knows what a blog is but don't be afraid to ask if you're not sure. If you need any more details then please feel free to ask.

Personally I prefer a blog - largely because I don't really upload much to the gallery anyway and I always find it interesting to read other people's ramblings

Ive never been into blogging so wouldnt use it, but that gallery has always had issues.

I like the gallery personally. I can't see myself blogging. We can always make a gallery Forum area and make a sticky with instructions on how to set up a photobucket account. Give each Gold member a thread area and one for the general population

it could be called Gallery threads under it could be Gold Members with the respective Gold members areas under that the second group could be General Images for the rest of the group

I like the gallery. It's a shame it doesn't work. The best part is the random shots that get posted at the top of the forum. you end up seeing more pictures than you would otherwise.

Thinking about my idea it wouldn't allow browsing of pictures so would be the same at all. HMMM

My vote is Gallery if you can work some magic and make it work.

The gallery should be working fine again now.

However, if you guys would still prefer a blog over the gallery then please feel free to let me know.

Blogs are cool, though I'm not sure I'd prefer them over the galleries. But anywho, none of this matters for me, so why the hell am I here?

I prefer the Gallery.

I love it. I upload to it all the time, Fable, Fear, Bioshock. And were known FOR our gallery at lionhead.
