It's a nice sentiment, but if we're measuring lifetime failure rates, the 360 has a long way to go to get that "most reliable" mantle. Regardless, we can all probably agree with Gates' sentiment that "we've got to make sure the hardware never stands in the way of [enjoying games]." Amen to that.

I dont think he should be saying that as it only gives ammo to the fanboys to start screaming about the failure rates and red rings of death and such.

Most definitely especially with XBL acting so screwy

Personally I admire the commitment. Perhaps in a year or two the reliability issue will have subsided. There are still millions of Xboxes that were sold with the old hardware so it could be a long road to even matching the PS3 and the Wii. At least it doesn't cause you to break your TV like the Wii

Yeah though that seems to be fixed now. There are so many faulty ones in circulation that the market may never be free from the RROD plagued ones.

Yeah, which sucks. It's like playing the luck of the draw game.. you'll either get lucky and pick up the newer model, or you'll get unlucky and end up picking up one of the older models that's been sitting on the shelf for ages.
