I've found out a way to have a child in Bowerstone South!

Rent out the house on the side of the town. Sleep somewhere outside of town for a few days til someone occupies the house you're renting. Come back there and there is a kid living inside the house. Next buy out the house to make it your living house. Now that you live in that house, the child that was inside of that house when you bought it will STILL LIVE THERE! Now observe at what the kid hair color looks like, then marry a lady that matches the same hair color as the kid, or make your hair color match the kids hair (If its blonde, do good deeds. If it's darker, leave it dark or marry a darker haired lady)

Now get hitched, live in the house, with your happy family! The kid in your house won't call you daddy or anything, but it's still an awesome trick.

Far from it. If the kid is choosing to stay by their own will, it's not forced, it's their own choice.

Now if you were an evil character... and they are scared of you, then yeah. Kidnapping would be more like it.

I've done it twice already, it worked both times.

Try it, see if it works. If it doesn't, say so here and we'll know for sure.

Um...uh...err...nice guy or not, your hero would still technically be a kidnapper. I guess you could "justify" your actions by saying you "adopted" the kid, though.
