Re: your favourite quotes.
"You can search throughout the entire universe for someone who is more deserving of your love and affection than you are yourself, and that person is not to be found anywhere. You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe deserve your love and affection." -Buddha
"Believe nothing, no matter where you read it, or who said it, no matter if I have said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense." - Buddha
"He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster... when you gaze long into the abyss the abyss also gazes into you..." - Friedrich Nietzsche
Far too many people have said great things for me to list all my favourites, those above are just the ones that came to mind at the moment.

"Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." - Isaac Asimov I think.
X2: The Threat came with heaps of them.
Also, did you know that Hitler got some of his ideas from Friedrich Nietzsche?

Re: your favourite quotes.
"Imagination is more important than knowledge."- Albert Einstein of course.
"You live to die, I die to live."- Me.
"The pen is mightier than the sword, especially when it's shot out of a cannon."- Also me.
"Everything will be okay in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end."- Unknown.
"If you have to be something, why not crazy?"- someone named Collin.
I love quotes, but one that I came across just the other day kind of ****ed me off: "Imagination is built upon knowledge." by some mathematician. Seriously, you don't need a speck of superior intelligent to be imaginative, to be creative. Some of the greatest artists in history never had formal education or anything. I think creativity is a God-given talent, and is not, contrary to popular belief, built on knowledge. Refer to the top quote above...

Demetri Martin Quotes:
"A dreamcatcher works, if your dream is to be gay."
"Every fight is a food fight when you’re a cannibal."
"I think the worst time to have a heart attack is during a game of charades...or a game of fake heart attack."
"Employee of the month is a good example of how somebody can be both a winner and a loser at the same time."
"When you have a fat friend there are no see-saws. Only catapults."
"I feel stupid when I write the word banana. Its like, how many na’s are on this thing? ‘Cause I’m like ‘Bana … keep going. Bananana … damn."
"I wanna make a jigsaw puzzle that’s 40,000 pieces. And when you finish it, it says 'go outside.'"
"Saying ‘I’m sorry’ is the same as saying ‘I apologize.’ Except at a funeral."
"One of my friends has a stutter and a lot of people think that’s a bad thing, but to me that’s just like starting certain words with a drum roll. That’s not an impediment, that’s suspense! What’s he going to say? Car?? …or Carnival?? …Carburetor!?!?"
“A drunk driver is very dangerous. So is a drunk backseat driver if he’s persuasive. ‘Dude make a left.’ ‘Those are trees…’ ‘Trust me.’
Hilarious!

Re: your favourite quotes.
People do not die... people live!
I dunno who said it, though^^
If you see a german hand sticking up from a trench, dont shoot it. Then the germans are sent home, and away from hell. And we want them to experience hell...
Vasily Grigoryevich Zaytsev
(Legendary soviet sniper, he said it during the battle of Stalingrad. German soldiers put their hands in the air, so the siper would shoot them and then the soldiers would be sent home. Because Stalingrad was no fun...)

Well, Nietzsche was a lot into the "survival of the strong" and how the strong will rule the world whilst the weak die and are forgotten, much like in nature. With Hitler's Third Reich and his idea of a "master race" one can only assume he thought in those lines as well.

Re: your favourite quotes.
"Don't try to be what you can't be. Be what you can be. Be who you are - salt and light of the earth." - Geoff Goodman
If I were to have a heart attack right at this moment, I hope I would have just enough air in my lungs and just enough strength in me to utter one last sentence as I fell to the floor: "What a ride!" My life has been up and down, careening left then right, full of mistakes and bad decisions, and if I died right now, even though I would love to live longer, I could say from the depths of my soul, "What a ride!" - Mike Yaconelli

Re: your favourite quotes.
Terry Pratchett is a mine of funny and incredibly deep quotes. eg. " Human beings make life so interesting. Do you know, that in a universe so full of wonders, they have managed to invent boredom." - Death
