I'll save you the time of reading my rant. It was something that was
supposed to be in the game. He did an interview about Fable: TLC, and while discussing the differences between the original and TLC, he talked about how at the end of the game, it is pretty much a sandbox in that you can wander about and do whatever you want, such as find the singing sword and sand goose. He also went on to discuss the super secret quest that he knows for a fact no one has yet discovered involving the Lookout Point statue and the time of day. Because of this, every raving Fable fanatic trolled the Fable modding scene saying that Peter says there's a Singing Sword and a sand goose and we're all just too stupid to find them.
It is my belief that he [Peter] had absolutely no idea what was happening on the design floor when the game was released because if he had a clue, he'd have known that the singing sword was never put in the game, nor the talentless bard, and the sand goose is just a snipe hunt. His super secret quest was the tavern cellar in Bowerstone.
When he was busted on that, someone on the dev team, perhaps Peter, perhaps someone else, suggested that people kill a thousand guards at the Guild to see what happens. I believe they did this to recover some shred of value in their word, because as it so happens, killing a thousand guards at the Guild causes super strong balverines to spawn in place of the guards. Of course, it'd be a lot easier to mod it and make that limit somewhere around five. Back to the point, the incredible amounts of hype and false truths that spills out of Peter have done nothing but made the reception of his games not as good as they could have been.
Well, that just turned into a second rant. Really need to keep a watch on that.
